About
Hello!
My name is Alexzander Ellenbogen, I was born in St. Louis, MO, grew up in Annapolis, MD, and was unapologetically raised by two Jews from Jericho, NY. In summary- I'm somewhat well-rounded! I spent the majority of my formative years watching 25 Days of Christmas on ABC in conjunction with Adam Sandler’s filmography. The sum of my childhood film-bingeing led me to one easy conclusion; I love storytelling. So when it came time to think about college, my passion led me to study Screenwriting at Emerson College (Class of '18).
During my time at Emerson, I’ve written and directed a handful of films that I am proud to say have been official selections of numerous film festivals and writing contests. I’ve worked on some of Boston’s most celebrated sets, most notably, the Academy Award winning film Manchester by The Sea.
I have one simple goal as I continue to grow as a writer; to discover why and how audience members emotionally connect with characters they have never met and never will meet in the span of two hours (22mins, 45mins, 5 seasons, etc.). This desire propels me to constantly soak up as much information as I can get my hands on, whether it’s from books or from people. My goal isn't limited by genre or medium, whatever the story is, I want to tell the best one.
Thanks for taking the time to read my bio, please feel free to reach out to me if you have anymore questions!
Oh, and I really like bartending (sorry-not-sorry, “Stick to the status quo” from High School Musical should direct you to where my heads at on that one).
